De jaarlijkse Europese dag van personen met een beperking vindt plaats op 28-29 november 2019, in Brussel.
Op 29 november zal de nieuwe Eurocommissaris Sociaal Beleid in Brussel bekend maken wie dit jaar de Access City Award 2020 wint en dus zal overnemen van de gemeente Breda, winnaar van deze prijs in 2019. Er waren 47 inzendingen en er is ook een mooi geldbedrag van € 100.000 beschikbaar voor de winnaar omdat dit een jubileum jaar is. De presentatie zal worden verzorgd door Lucille Werner die ook onlangs in Breda de bijeenkomst van ACA-winnaars heeft geleid. Er zal uiteraard ook een delegatie uit Breda bij deze bijeenkomst aanwezig zijn.
Hosted by the European Commission, in partnership with the European disability forum, this event is the opportunity for the EU to mainstream disability issues and to raise awareness of the everyday- life challenges faced by persons with disabilities.
Politicians, high-level experts and self-advocates will attend the conference to discuss the challenges, the solutions and the projects for improving policies dedicated to persons with disabilities.
The 2019 conference will be an opportunity to discuss the preliminary findings of the public consultation on the European disability strategy 2010-2020, as well as the delegates’ expectations for the next decade. Inspiration from outside the EU is also to be brought and participants will hear about the inclusion in sport and discuss how it can be improved.
Access city award 2020 ceremony
The access city award 2020 ceremony will be the occasion for the European Commission to unveil the name of the award’s 10th winner. Let us all celebrate the access city award’s 10th anniversary! This year, 47 cities sent their applications.
